This Privacy Policy explains how Fantasy Footballer Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects the personal information you give us when you visit fantasyfootballer.co.uk or place an order for one of our personalised football books. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Fantasy Footballer Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales (Company No. 12578824), with its registered office at 31 Wyles Street, Gillingham, Kent, ME7 1NB. We are the “data controller” responsible for your personal information.

The information we collect

Because our books are personalised, we collect a little more than a typical shop. Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:

Order and contact details — your name, delivery and billing address, email address and phone number.
Personalisation details you enter for the book — the child’s first name and/or surname, their gender, chosen hair, skin and eye colour, shirt number, chosen club and any personal message. This information is used solely to illustrate and produce the book you have ordered.
Payment information — card payments are processed securely by our payment providers (Stripe and WooPayments). We do not see or store your full card number; we only receive confirmation that payment has succeeded.
Account information — if you create an account, your username and a securely hashed password.
Communications — the content of emails, messages, reviews or feedback you send us.
Technical and usage data — IP address, browser type, device information, and how you navigate the site, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see “Cookies” below).

A note on children’s information

Our books are bought by adults as gifts for children. The personalisation details about a child are provided by you, the adult purchaser, and we treat them as part of your order. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and we do not use a child’s details for any purpose other than producing the book you have ordered.

How we use your information, and our lawful basis

To fulfil your order (illustrate, print, package and deliver your personalised book, and provide customer support) — lawful basis: performance of a contract with you.
To take payment and prevent fraud — lawful basis: performance of a contract and our legitimate interests in running a secure business.
To keep records and meet our legal obligations (for example tax and accounting) — lawful basis: legal obligation.
To improve our website, products and service, and to understand how the site is used — lawful basis: our legitimate interests.
To send you marketing about our books and offers, where you have asked to hear from us — lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share it with

We never sell your personal information. We share it only with the trusted providers that help us run our business, and only as far as they need it to do their job:

Payment processors — Stripe and WooPayments, to take your payment securely.
Print and fulfilment partners — to produce and dispatch your personalised book.
Delivery couriers — to deliver your order to the address you give us.
Email and marketing tools — such as Mailchimp, where you have opted in to hear from us.
Website hosting and technical providers — who store the site’s data on secure servers behind a firewall.

We may also disclose information where we are legally required to do so, or to protect our rights, property or safety.

Cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember your basket, understand how the site is used and, where you agree, to support marketing. You can control non-essential cookies through the cookie banner when you first visit, and you can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Turning off some cookies may affect how the site works.

How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it: order and transaction records are kept for as long as required to fulfil the order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations (normally up to 6 years), and marketing preferences are kept until you unsubscribe. Personalisation details are retained with your order record so we can re-print or resolve any issue with your book.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
ask us to delete your information, where there is no legal reason for us to keep it;
object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your information;
ask us to transfer your information to another provider (data portability); and
withdraw your consent to marketing at any time.

Marketing

If you have opted in to our emails, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by contacting us. Withdrawing consent to marketing will not affect any order you have placed.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes take effect as soon as they are posted here, so please check back occasionally. Where changes are significant, we will make this clear on the website.
